Identity for Kex Hostel, a hostel, restaurant and tavern which opened in an old cookie factory in Reykjavík in 2011. Interior design by Hálfdán Petersen and Sara Jónsdóttir, who gathered furniture and props from around the world to create a warm, friendly place to stay, drink and eat with an eclectic style.
The idea for this identity was to represent the many different types of people from all over the world that come to KEX Hostel with typography and early 20th century visuals.
The identity has 8 different logos, created from mostly bespoke type designed especially for this project, with a few exceptions. Made with Albert Muñoz. Photography by Börkur Sigþórsson.
